Places to Visit in Lille

Lille is one of the most scenic cities of France, which offers a myriad of tourist attractions. The city is dotted with cobbled squares and narrow lanes bordered with old houses, trendy boutiques, exquisite mansions, grand restaurants and cafes.

Musee des Beaux-Arts – is one of the must visit places of Lille where you can see a rich collection of paintings ranging from 15th to 20th century paintings. It is regarded as the second best museum of France. You can see masterpieces of Raphael, Donatello, Rubens, Rembrandt, Van Dyck, El Greco, Toulouse-Lautrec and David.

Euralille Shopping Center – To enjoy the shopping destination in Lille you can go to Euralille Shopping Center. Built between Eurostar and Lille Flandres it was constructed by the famous town planner Rem Koolhaas in 1994. Enjoy hunting the cafes, restaurants and about 200 shops at the complex.

Musee de l’Hospice Comtesse – is another tourist attraction of Lille. It is regarded the one of the oldest buildings of Lille which was made way back in 1237 A.D. Enjoy the display of excellent collections of antiquities of gold, silver and earthenware, Watteau brothers’ paintings, authentic Flemish works at this exotic sanatorium and museum.

Place General de Gaulle – Close to Voix du Nord and Vieille Bourse, is located Place General de Gaulle which is a scenic pedestrian area and square.
