The Boulder Chinese Evangelical Free Church desires to create a community that is multi-lingual. The majority of our community speaks Mandarin as their primary language, though we also hear Cantonese and Taiwanese on a daily basis. Additionally, many of our congregation prefers to operate in English as their primary language, so we utilize both languages in our church, sometimes even together in the same service.
Above all else, we want to be a single community of believers, a family, united in Christ but free to worship in whatever language God has made our mother-tongue. For this reason we are one church, but with two languages (Mandarin and English). Our belief is that language does not have to be an obstacle but instead reflects what the new heavens and new earth will be like as " a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, stand[s] before the throne and in front of the Lamb" worshipping him (Revelation 7:9, NIV).
